Prime Minister Mykola Azarov thinks it necessary to fix one time in Ukraine that corresponds to the time zone UTC +2 (winter time), the prime minister's press service said in the press release.
"Azarov believes Ukraine needs to fix the time zone where the most part of the country locate and make it permanent," the press release said.
According to the Prime Minister, the government is drafting a resolution to regulate transition to winter and summer time.
"We are outlining the resolution, and the Ministry of Finance was tasked with collecting the proposals of the ministries concerned. The resolution will be discussed and based, in the first place, on the time zone the larger part of the country uses. I think we have to fix this very time zone," the press service quoted Azarov as saying.
At the same time he emphasized the main objective here is convenience for Ukrainians, and the arguments how much Ukraine will be behind this or that country were secondary.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov wrote in Facebook in September he supported the decision of the Verkhovna Rada on the abolition of transition to winter time.
The parliament reintroduced daylight saving time in October 2011.
