Prime Minister Mykola Azarov states that Poland is considered inexpedient to complete construction of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline towards Gdansk (Poland).
The prime minister has written this in Facebook.
"We have continually offered our Polish partners, but they consider the construction inexpedient," Azarov noted.
In addition, the Prime Minister shared his thoughts on modernization of the gas transport system which, in his opinion, Ukraine was capable to upgrade itself, but found it more reasonable to create an international consortium.
As Ukrainian News reported, Poland on September 15, 2011, declared an intention to examine Ukraine's and Kazakhstan's preparedness for taking part in the project for completion of the Odesa-Brody-Plock oil pipeline.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in April 2011 confirmed Polish interest in extension of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline to Gdansk in Poland.
Polish Senate Marshal Bogdan Borusewicz said in November 2010 he saw the extension of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline to Gdansk (Poland) as a promising project.
Poland expressed its interest in launching the operation of the Odesa-Brody pipeline toward Europe.
