Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (the town of Enerhodar, Zaporizhia region) on January 27 reduced power generated capacity by 40 megawatt because of a fall of the power line pylon in Velykyi Berezhnyi district, Zaporizhia region, the press-service of Zaporizhia regional state administration said in the statement.

Addressing the All-Ukrainian telephone conference Oleksandr Peklushenko, head of Zaporizhia regional state administration, said about a reduction in the capacity of Zaporizhia nuclear power plant from 5040 to 5000 megawatt.

At the same time he emphasized the plant was operating in the routine mode.

The recovery work is going on at the accident site.

According to the preliminary data, the reason for the fall of the support is theft of metal structures.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on January 1, Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (Enerhodar, Zaporizhia region) disconnected its power unit No. 3 from the Ukrainian unified energy grid till March 23 in view of the scheduled repair.

Zaporizhia NPP has six power units of VVER-1000 type with the combined electrical power of about 6 gigawatt.
