Former Internal Affairs Minister Yurii Lutsenko explains sessions of the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv in a case against him have taking place every day with the authorities fearing that the European Court of Human Rights will deliver a judgement in his complaint, he has told Ukrainian News.
"Yes, I link this 'unseen enthusiasm' of the Court namely with the paymaster of my political persecution frightened by the resolution of the European Court of Human Rights," said Lutsenko.
In his opinion, the paymasters of his political persecution understand well legal implication of the European Court's just decision of bringing to criminal responsibility all those who signed illegal resolutions.
A source from Lutsenko's environment has said that under preliminary information, not yet officially confirmed, the European Court of Human Rights will deliver a judgement in his complaint within two weeks.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on January 13 the Lutsenko case trial lasted from the start of the workday and until the end without lunch breaks or interruptions for the Lutsenko defence's other requests.
The Court was trying the case on January 11 and 12 too.
On January 16, the trial was postponed until January 17 since the lawyer of the defendant in the case, Volodymyr Tarasenko, failed to appear.
