Seven people were taken to hospital after a blast of domestic gas in a residential house in Ordzhonikidze, Dnipropetrovsk region, on February 8, reads a statement made by the Ministry of Emergencies and Affairs of Population Protection from the Consequences of the Chornobyl Catastrophe in Dnipropetrovsk region.
Preliminary data from the Emergencies Ministry, the explosion occurred at 5.25am on the second floor of a two-storey house located at 13 Pushkin's Street.
The blast destroyed supporting structures of the first riser block of six flats.
It brought down 180 square metres of space.
Emergencies Ministry rescuers saved 16 people, of them six were taken from under the rubble, one man was taken from the second floor.
"Six people are in satisfactory condition, one with burns of 60% of the body in grave condition," the statement says.
Fifty-five rescuers and 18 Emergencies Ministry machines are working on the accident scene.
